The Wetland International Cormorant Research Group pan-European Colony Count 2006

The Wetlands International Cormorant Research Group and members of INTERCAFE (Cost) organise a pan-European Cormorant breeding colony count in 2006.

In order to contribute, for each colony a form can be filled (see attachment). The forms can be filled out digitally or by hand and be returned to the national coordinators after the breeding season of 2006. Please, return the forms before 1 September 2006.

The data will be used to get an international overview of the status of the species. They will be useful for comparison with data obtained in earlier years and will allow an integrated view on the expansion of the species into central and (north)eastern Europe. As most of the conflict issues are connected to the inland breeding sinensis subspecies we intend to concentrate on this subspecies especially. However, census data of carbo as well as Pygmy Cormorant are welcomed of course.
