Cormorant news from Finland
The breeding population of cormorant in summer 2007 is estimated to amount to approximately 8900 couples in 29 colonies. The increase since last year was 54 % which is about the same as the average increase in the last few years. The growth was strongest in the Archipelago Sea where the population doubled to almost 3200 couples..

Austrian National Platform - Summary of Meeting
The meeting was organized on a voluntarily basis by the national delegates. The main goal was to introduce and to improve the knowledge about the INTERCAFE project, to serve as a platform for a wider dissemination of relevant information as well as to encourage the participatory process.

Location: BAW, Inst.f.Gewässerökologie, Fischereibiologie und Seenkunde, Mondsee, Scharfling, Austria.

Representatives of all nine Austrian provincial fishery-associations, fishery related umbrella organisations and clubs (commercial fisheries, aquaculture, anglers), experienced fish biologists (Universities, research institutions), representatives and official experts from the federal ministery and provinical governments (fishery, law, nature conservation).
